Our Mission

It  took 2yrs due to rainy weather and a small work crew of 2 men, I, John A. Bradley originally from Tuskegee, AL and Sherman Murray from Tuskegee, AL. Somethings was contracted out such as the roof, insulation and foundation/concrete slab but everything else was done by me and my best friend, Sherman. 

The great motivator for building this home for my family was to be off the grid and at least 80% self-sufficient by producing my own energy, food, water and housing. 

My family consisting of my son, 16 and my wife of 22 yrs. moved from a 4000 sq. ft. ranch on a basement to this 1500 sq. ft. container home with an upstairs bonus loft area. We learned that we did not need all of the “stuff” we had and after a year of being in this smaller space we are still purging. 

We also have 80 ft. greenhouse going up, solar panels being connected and will open for tours and volunteers can come and learn at “Bradley’s Serenity Farms” by Summer of 2018. I am also available as a consultant for those who are interested in building a container home as a DIY project of their own. We are very happy and are looking forward to peaceful retirement.
